The Nigeria Police Force, on Sunday said Nigerian youths are pivotal to national security and general development of the country. The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, said this while confirming the readiness of the police to organise the Police Youth Summit, 2024 to commemorate the UN International Youth Day on August 12, 2024.
A statement by Force Spokesperson, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said preparations for the Nigeria Police Youth Summit is in full swing, and the police, eagerly anticipate engaging with young and brilliant minds from across the country.
Adejobi said the summit promised to be an enriching experience, featuring thought provoking discussions on youth empowerment, national security, and intelligence, with guest keynote speaker Prof. Olanrewaju Fagboun, a professor of Environmental Law and former Vice-Chancellor, Lagos State University.
The event, he said, would also include interactive sessions on crime prevention, conflict resolution, and community engagement, providing a platform for youths to share their ideas and perspectives.
He further noted that innovative solutions developed by Nigerian youths will be showcased, highlighting their creativity and potential.
He said, the Inspector General of Police, Olukayode Egbetokun, will make a special appearance, underscoring the dedication of the Nigeria Police Force to empowering youths.
According to him, together, let us build a safer, more secured Nigeria, by harnessing the energy and talents of our young people.
