Huawei Unveils $2,800 Tri-Foldable Phone, Seeks To Outshine Apple

Huawei has unveiled a $2,800 tri-foldable Mate XT phone, boasting AI features and sleek design, to challenge Apple’s iPhone dominance.

Chinese tech giant Huawei Technologies has launched a revolutionary $2,800 tri-foldable phone, the Mate XT, as it aims to solidify its lead in the global smartphone market and steal the spotlight from Apple’s latest iPhone release.

“Today we bring you a product that everyone can think of but could not make. Our team has been working hard for five years and has never given up,” Huawei executive director Richard Yu said at the launch ceremony in Shenzhen.

The Mate XT boasts an impressive array of features, including an AI assistant with text summary, translation, and editing functions, as well as AI-boosted image editing capabilities.

The device is powered by Huawei’s in-house Kylin chips and has already received over 4 million pre-orders.

“We will once again rewrite the history of the industry, turn science fiction into reality, and lead a new era of folding devices,” Yu declared.

The Mate XT’s launch comes hot on the heels of Apple’s iPhone 16 release, with both smartphones set to go on sale on September 20.

Huawei’s innovative device is priced starting at 19,999 yuan ($2,800) for 256 gigabytes, with higher memory versions available for 21,999 yuan and 23,999 yuan.

With its sleek design, advanced AI capabilities, and competitive pricing, Huawei’s Mate XT is poised to be a game-changer in the smartphone market, challenging Apple’s dominance and redefining the future of mobile technology.
