Hezbollah Drone Strike Injures Over 60 in Northern Israel

Medics have reported that over 60 individuals were injured in a drone strike that occurred in the Binyamina region of northern Israel. United Hatzalah, a volunteer emergency response organisation, reported that the injuries were classified as critical to moderate. All victims were transported to five regional hospitals via helicopter or ambulance.

The incident was claimed by Hezbollah, which claimed that it was directed at the Golani Brigade training camp of the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF), which is situated between Tel Aviv and Haifa. The strike was a response to Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon and Beirut on Thursday, according to the group’s media office.

The organisation asserted that it employed a “swarm of drones” to target a camp in northern Israel.

Due to Israeli censorship rules, media outlets cannot specify the exact location or target. Still, some reports indicate that the site was hit by a low-level drone launched from Lebanon. This relatively unsophisticated weapon did not trigger early warning alarms.

Footage shown by Israeli media depicted wounded individuals being assisted into emergency vehicles, including helicopters. According to Israeli media, 67 people have been injured, with four in critical condition and five seriously wounded.

Many of the injured have been transported to Hillel Yaffe Medical Centre in nearby Hadera, while others were taken to hospitals in Tel Hashomer, Haifa, Afula, and Netanya.

Details are still limited, but it appears that many of the injured were in a communal canteen at the time and were completely taken by surprise. Social media images show an empty mess hall with a hole in the roof.
