Ahead of next year’s elections, the Northern Elders’ Forum, NEF, has said the region will support only a presidential candidate who has the capacity to address the nation’s socio-economic and security problems, irrespective of where the person comes from.
According to the forum, the north will no longer vote for a candidate based on sentiments as the region did for President Muhammadu Buhari in 2015, describing the incumbent as a disappointment not only to the north but the entire country.
To throw more light on the 2023 presidency and what the north has to lose with the conduct of a national census this year, is Dr Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, Director of Publicity and Advocacy, Northern Elders’ Forum.
