Pep Guardiola became the quickest manager to reach 500 goals in Premier League in Manchester City’s 7-0 victory over Leeds United on Tuesday night.
City opened the scoring through Phil Foden before Jack Grealish made it 2-0. Kevin de Bruyne, who made his first Premier League start since November grabbed a brace with Riyad Mahrez, Nathan Ake and Jone Stones each grabbing a goal as City run riot.
Since Guardiola took over in the summer of 2016, City have now scored 500 goals coming from just 207 matches, an average of 2.4 goals per game.
The new record now sees Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp drop to second having reached the 500-goal mark in 243 matches.
