There’s uproar and outrage – but also some support – across Nigeria, as the federal government threatens to impose emergency rule on the southeast state of Anambra, ahead of the governorship election in less than a month.
The threat comes as the security situation in the state deteriorates dramatically, with a spate of attacks, killings and stay at home orders. But why hasn’t a state of emergency been declared in other security challenged states? Does it smack of a hidden agenda, as some suggest?
