Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, has expressed optimism about the state’s fortunes following the visit and prayers of the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye.
The Governor shared his sentiments on Monday during the RCCG’s special program titled “Light Up Ilogbo” held in Ilogbo, Ekiti. The event coincided with the church’s annual December outreach, “Let’s Go a Fishing.”
Speaking to journalists after the program, Governor Oyebanji described Pastor Adeboye’s visit as a divine blessing and a positive sign for Ekiti State. He noted that the cleric’s prophetic declarations would manifest in the lives of Ekiti citizens and the state’s governance as the new year approaches.
“Well, like he said during his sermon, he has brought good news to us in Ekiti State, and the program is titled ‘Light Up Ilogbo Ekiti.’ I have absolute confidence in God that it is not only Ilogbo that will experience this light, but the whole of Ekiti will,” the Governor stated.
He added, “This is a very good Christmas gift for us as a state, for him (Pastor Adeboye) to have stepped his foot on Ekiti soil, I know that good news will follow all of us in Jesus’ name.”
During his sermon, Pastor Adeboye, who was visiting Ilogbo Ekiti for the first time, declared that God had sent him to the state with a message of blessings, breakthroughs, and positive turnarounds. He assured the people of Ekiti that the period of stagnation and difficulties was over, signaling a new dawn of prosperity for the state.
The program was attended by dignitaries, including the wife of the Governor, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji; Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye; clergy members; traditional rulers; and worshippers from various faiths.
The Governor’s remarks and Pastor Adeboye’s visit have been widely seen as a symbol of hope and renewal for Ekiti State as the new year draws closer.
