Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, yesterday, declared three days of state mourning for the deceased Chairman of the South-West Governors’ Forum and Ondo State governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN.
Makinde, who is the Vice chatirman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum, gave the directive in a release by his Chief Press Secretary, Sulaimon Olanrewaju.
The governor equally ordered that all flags at public offices in the state be flown at half mast for the three days.
Governor Makinde had, on Wednesday evening, alongside the Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum, Governor Abdulrazaq Abdulrahman of Kwara State, visited the Ibadan home of the late Ondo State governor.
Arakunrin Akeredolu was reported dead in the early hours of Wednesday after a protracted battle with prostate cancer.
