During an exclusive interview with ARISE NEWS, Nigeria’s President Muhammadu Buhari revealed how he put the responsibility of security in the states squarely on the shoulders of governors, despite no legal backing for state policing.
Buhari believes engagement at the local level as was done in the past when “monthly or quarterly meetings” were held between herders, traders and traditional rulers will suffice in tackling criminality.
The governors should quit looking to the federal government for help since they wanted the job so bad, he quipped.
