A town in Poland has extended an invitation to Elon Musk to purchase its historic 13th-century castle, to transform it into his European headquarters.
Piotr Bujak, the mayor of Głogowek, shared that he recently reached out via Musk’s social media platform, X, and sent formal letters to Musk’s companies, urging him to consider acquiring the property. The price of the castle has not yet been disclosed, and Musk has yet to respond to the proposal.
According to The Associated Press, Bujak explained that he had seen reports suggesting Musk was on the lookout for a large property, possibly a castle in Italy, to establish a base of operations in Europe. The Głogówek castle, located in southwestern Poland, has a rich historical heritage dating back to the Middle Ages. It served as the capital of Poland briefly in the 17th century and has hosted famous composer Ludwig van Beethoven, who composed music at the site.
The surrounding area is renowned for its long-standing tradition of winemaking. Situated within convenient reach of major European capitals—Berlin, Prague, Vienna, Bratislava, and Warsaw—the town offers excellent connectivity. Additionally, there is space available for a helicopter landing pad. While the castle requires significant restoration and investment from a private party, it provides ample space suitable for both residential and commercial purposes.
