Ganduje: APC Will Win More Seats in Government By Remaining Active Post-Election

The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday activated its plans to capture more power in the Governorship, National and State Houses of Assembly seats on its platform in future elections.

Contrary to before when political parties would only be active during the election, the APC promised to be active throughout the year to get more seats.

The National Chairman of APC, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, stated these during the inspection of the ongoing renovation and innovation of its national secretariat in Abuja.

He said the National Working Committee would ensure an all-year round active party, adding that the APC under his watch would not only be active during election season but all year round.

According to him, the ongoing renovation and innovation at the APC national secretariat was for progress of the party and the nation, adding that a chapel (Church) for Christian worship and shops to avoid street hawking around the Buhari House are being built with concentrate drainage system.

He said, “In our tradition, usually political parties as institutions they are only active during the electioneering. But in developed democracies, political parties as institutions are active because they are not only limited to election, recruitment of membership.

“Our blueprint is to increase the number of legislators that we have in the country, the number of governors that we have in the country and by implication, the number of State Houses of Assembly. That is why we said APC will be active throughout the year.

“It is a two-way traffic. It gives the progress of the government to people and also gives recommendations on its manifestos. That is how the government is assessed; Renewed Hope is achieved.”

Ganduje also announced plans to renovate the APC Media Centre with modern digital equipment to enhance the work of journalists and media engagements of the party.

He said, “The ongoing renovation and the new innovation are for the progress of the party and the nation. Before, there was no Church. Nobody went to Church in the premises. But now, we have a Church. We have shops to avoid street hawking around the building. And we have concrete drainage.

“In terms of its outlook and equipment, I have not seen any symbol of modern gadgets in the media centre. We are not in analogue period. But, I think what I have seen here is analogue. But, our media people are not analogue.

“So, let us see the media centre as a digital platform. I want you to discuss this with my Chief of Staff on it. I want a media centre such that from here you can talk to media houses sometimes live.”
