    Trade unions in Guinea ended a three-day nationwide strike which led to the closure of schools, shops, markets, and roads in the capital, Conakry.

    Demanding better living conditions, lower food prices, and the release of a jailed media activist the protests follow a wave of demonstrations across Africa since 2023.
