Flytime Music Festival Cancelled Due to Covid-19

This year’s Flytime Music Festival, Nigeria’s first multiple day festival, has been cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.

It’s the first time in sixteen years the festival, which has seen the likes of Megan the Stallion and Boys II Men grace its stage in Lagos, Nigeria, will not be held.

In a statement, the organisers said that due to the rising numbers of covid-19 infections in Lagos state and around the world, they had decided to cancel concerts to “protect our audience, musicians, employees and community.”

“The decision to cancel our concerts was not taken lightly. Given the year we have all had, we could all use some music- a powerful source of comfort and healing- at this time. We believe that our choice to postpone all physical events and gatherings until further notice is the most socially responsible way to serve the public interest,” the statement read.

The festival, which prides itself as being the first multiple day festival in Nigeria, was headlined by Megan the Stallion and Tiwa Savage last year.

Reggae singer, songwriter, rapper Koffee and legendary RnB group Boys II Men also performed to over 5,000 attendees.
