Flights Resume At Birmingham Airport After Suspicious Vehicle Incident

Birmingham Airport has resumed operations after a suspicious vehicle prompted flight cancellations and passenger evacuations on Wednesday.

Operations at Birmingham Airport are gradually returning to normal after a suspicious vehicle prompted the temporary suspension of flights on Wednesday. The airport, located in central England, was forced to cancel departing flights for several hours while authorities conducted a police investigation.

An airport spokesperson confirmed that some passengers were evacuated as a precaution during the investigation. “Following a police investigation, some passengers were evacuated and we had to suspend departing flights for a couple of hours. That investigation has now concluded, and operations will slowly be returning to normal,” the spokesperson said.

Passengers are urged to stay updated with the latest flight information by checking with their respective airlines.

Birmingham Airport, the seventh busiest in the UK, serves millions of travellers annually. In 2023, it handled approximately 11.5 million passengers.
