First Lady of Nigeria, Oluremi Tinubu, has urged citizens to suspend planned protests from August 1-14, assuring that the government is working tirelessly to restore stability.
Speaking at a meeting with governors’ wives in Abuja, she emphasised Nigeria’s improved international standing and growing interest in business opportunities, which could create jobs.
Tinubu expressed concern over the lingering effects of the #EndSARS protests, urging youth to be creative and proactive.
She announced a N50,000 grant for 1,000 women petty traders in each state and the FCT to boost small businesses. Tinubu also highlighted the One Nigeria Unity Fabric competition, noting that production of the winning design is underway in Kano and Lagos.
The First Lady honoured the late music icon Onyeka Onwenu with a minute of silence and outlined the upcoming activities of the Renewed Hope Initiative, including collaborations with various government agencies and international partners.
