FIFA Bans CAF President Ahmad For Five Years

An Independent Ethics Committee of the world’s football governing body FIFA has handed the President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Ahmad Ahmad, a five-year ban from all football-related activities.
The ethics committee of the world’s football governing body found the CAF leader guilty of some unethical procedures and “had breached his duty of loyalty, offered gifts and other benefits, mismanaged funds and abused his positions as the CAF President.”
As the president of CAF, Ahmad is also a FIFA vice president and is campaigning to be re-elected for another four years as CAF chief. He faced allegations of mismanagement in his first term.
The election is scheduled for March 2021.
