There are fears of a full-scale war as violence between Palestinian militants in the Gaza Strip and the Israeli military continues.
At least 43 Palestinians and six Israelis have been killed so far since Monday, including 13 Arab Israeli children.
Israel said more than 1,000 rockets have now been fired by Palestinian militant group, Hamas, over 38 hours.
Israel has also carried out deadly air strikes, bringing down two tower blocks in Gaza on Tuesday. It has declared a state of emergency in the central city of Lod after rioting by Isreali-Arabs.
The fighting follows weeks of rising tension between Israeli police and Palestinian protesters at a site in Jerusalem that is holy to both Muslims and Jews.
It is the heaviest fighting between the bitter enemies since 2014.
The international community has urged both sides to end the escalation, amid concerns it could spiral out of control.
