Chairman of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum, Kayode Fayemi, has spoken on behalf of his colleagues in reaction to the new Petroleum Industry Act signed by President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday.
Fayemi who spoke exclusively to ARISE News on Thursday expressed reservations on aspects of the bill.
According to him, the governors are seeking an amendment.
Fayemi explained that the NNPC is jointly owned by the federal government and subnationals, and the interests of those who own 46% should have been taken into consideration before the bill was made law.
