The Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu officially launched the historic Red Rail Line train service on Tuesday.
Sanwo-Olu, said the Red Line is designed to carry 500,000 passengers daily, at full capacity and will significantly improve commuting in the state.
The governor encouraged residents to have their Cowry Cards ready for boarding, and boarded the train at around 5pm along with other passengers.
Following the lawsuit filed by senior advocate of Nigeria, Femi Falana and his son Musician Falz against social media influencer, Very Dark Man, the Lagos High Court in Ikeja on Tuesday ordered the influencer, to bring down the defamatory video and comments published on Sept 24th and also restrained him from further releasing, publishing, or circulating any defamatory videos and comments against the senior advocate and his son, pending the hearing of the suit.
The Falana’s had taken very dark man to court in separate suits, claiming ₦500 million Naira each, as damages over the video he posted, alleging that they collected ₦10 million Naira from Bobrisky, to secure a presidential pardon.
In their suits, the father and son submitted that Very Dark Man knew that all his comments were unverified and not true yet he proceeded to publish the same to injure their reputation recklessly.
The family of Pastor Shyngle Wigwe, father to the late Herbert Wigwe, who died in a helicopter crash in the United States on February 10th, released a statement on Tuesday to address a recent article titled ‘Family Dispute Erupts Over Estate of Late Banking Executive Herbert Wigwe published on October 13, 2024.
Emeka Wigwe, brother to the late banking executive in the statement, said that the article has unfortunately spread widely across social and national media.
To debunk the report, Emeka stated, that at no point has his father, Pastor Shyngle Wigwe requested 20% of the estate of the late Herbert Wigwe, neither has there been any such request by other family members, adding that the article’s claim, that the 20% demand contradicts Herbert’s WILL is entirely false and misleading.
The facts regarding the estate are already publicly available in the Probate Registry, where an affidavit clearly outlines the correct details.
The Economic and Financial Criminal Commission on Tuesday said the journalist arrested at Urban Radio 94.5FM Enugu was allegedly involved in a N700 million ponzi scheme.
