Major stock indexes in Europe traded slightly higher on Thursday, with the CAC 40 adding around 0.2% as investors welcomed news that the EU and the UK finally reached a Post-Brexit trade deal and an official announcement is expected anytime on Thursday.
An agreement has been reached on fair competition and fishing rights and negotiators are still working on the wording.
The deal ends months of negotiations after the UK formally left the EU on January 31st and comes just days ahead of the end of the transition period on December 31st.
The DAX 30 and the FTSE MIB are closed for Christmas Eve and the trading session on Thursday will be shorter.
