Founder of Stanbic IBTC and Chairman of ANAP Foundation Atedo Peterside has faulted President Muhammadu Buhari’s non-reference to Nigerians who lost their lives during the #EndSARS protest.

Peterside who appeared on ARISE News said he wished the president had made reference to those who lost their lives.

“When I listened to his speech I just wish he had made reference to those that lost their lives, not just the police. Every life is important and we must send that signal, especially to the hoodlums,”  the ANAP Chairman stated.

He also faulted the speech of the president saying he shouldn’t have talked about his administration’s poverty alleviation measures such as the trader-moni and farmers-moni and described Buhari’s nationwide address as a speech of one who knows he won’t speak for a long time.

“The president’s speech has one problem and it’s a problem of those who speak only once in a long time because they know they won’t speak again for some time, so there’s the temptation to throw in many things in the speech.

“Generally when you go to console someone over the loss of people, you cannot in the same breath be discussing trader-moni and other things like that, those ones can come later,” said Peterside.
