Human rights lawyer, Femi Falana says the white paper on the report submitted by the Lagos judicial panel on police brutality is illegal.
Citing a section of the Tribunals of Inquiry Law, Falana says the report of the judicial panel is as effective as a judgment of the Lagos state high court.
He claims that its findings can only be challenged in a competent court. The senior advocate also criticised the report of the white paper committee, stating that there were many contradictions. He said in previous interviews on Arise TV that, the governor admitted to visiting victims at the hospital as well as admitting that two persons were killed.
He also faults the state government for stating that the panel did not disclose the identities of the soldiers who shot at protesters.
