Emir Praises Tinubu Administration’s Road Rehabilitation Efforts in Katsina

Emir Abdulmumini Kabir Usman of Katsina has said the Katsina-Dutsinma-Mararrabar Kankara Road will boost the economy and security.

The Emir of Katsina Dr. Abdulmumini Kabir Usman has expressed appreciation to the President Bola Tinubu led Federal Government for the construction of a 150 Kilometres of the Katsina-Dutsinma-Mararrabar Kankara road at the rate of 147 Billion Naira.

The Emir while receiving some members of the benefitting communities, say the need for the rehabilitation of the road was long overdue and he has been lobbying for it.

But he is now expressing appreciation to  President Bola Tinubu for the ongoing rehabilitation of the road which he described as the gateway to Katsina, and by extension to the neighbouring Niger Republic.

“This is what we want and this is exactly what we have been asking for since when I was a District Head before becoming an Emir. The road will continue to be enhancing developmental activities in Katsina State because the importance of road can not be overemphasised”.

The Katsina Dutsin-Ma Kankara road is the linking point between Katsina and other states, it also links to the neighbouring Niger Republic.

If completed within the next 24 months it is expected to cut across 8 local government areas in Katsina State. It is also  expected to assist in boosting economic activities and reduce the cases of Banditry and kidnapping along the road.

Members of the benefitting communities cutting across Malumfashi, Kankara, Danmusa, Safana, Dutsinma, Kurfi, Batagarawa, and Katsina the state’s capital said the rehabilitation of the would significantly among other things hasten responses to distress calls during Bandits attacks along this axis.

The Katsina-Dutsinma-Mararrabar Kankara is still the only easiest road linking Katsina State with other parts of the country, but its deplorable condition and the frequency of Bandit attacks along this road remains a major setback.

But the people are now optimistic that this rehabilitation would address some of these keys challenges being faced by motorists as the construction is promising to complete the work before the stipulated 24 Months period.
