Emeka Beke: Tony Okocha Not An APC Member, He’s Playing Wike’s Script To Control Both PDP and APC

Emeka Beke has announced plans to hold a stakeholder meeting on Thursday for “genuine” APC members ahead of LGA elections.

The Reinstated Chairman of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Rivers State, Emeka Beke, has accused Tony Okocha, leader of the now-dissolved caretaker committee in the state, of playing the script of Former Rivers state Nyesom Wike’s script to control both PDP and APC in the state.

Beke stated this while speaking in an interview with ARISE NEWS on Tuesday following his reinstatement by a Rivers State High Court, which sacked the seven-man caretaker committee led by Okocha.

Expressing satisfaction with the court’s decision, he stated, “This matter has been ongoing for over six months, and finally, the court has given judgment in our favour and in favour of the party, as well as those duly elected by the Congress of our great party in Rivers State.”

In response to Tony Okocha’s criticism of the court’s judgment and his intention to appeal, Beke dismissed the comments, saying, “What do you expect to hear from somebody who has already failed? I don’t have contact with any judge in Rivers State. We waited and followed due process, and by the grace of God, we got that judgment yesterday. The hope of the common man is the judiciary, and the judiciary has given judgment.”

Addressing concerns raised by Okocha about the impartiality of the judge, Beke explained that he was unaware of any request for the judge to recuse himself.

He reiterated his position that Tony Okocha is no longer a member of the APC, accusing him of playing a script designed by Wike. “Tony Okocha is not a member of APC. He was. He is coming to play a script for someone, and it won’t work. He is playing Nyesom Wike’s script. Wike’s script wants to control both PDP and APC in Rivers State. Wike is not a member of our party. He brought Tony Okocha and the caretaker members.”

Beke also took the opportunity to express his support for Governor Siminalayi Fubara, urging that he be allowed to govern the state without interference. “Fubara is the governor of Rivers State, and you can not have two governors. Even if you give your biological son the position as governor, then you should allow him to function in it,” Beke remarked.

The reinstated chairman also mentioned his plans to stabilise the APC in Rivers State and organise a stakeholder meeting. “I’m going to call a meeting of stakeholders of the party on Thursday and invite genuine members of our party (APC). The local government election is coming up in a week, and we need to battle to get some seats to make sure our people can function very well.”

He reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC and his commitment to ensuring that the party remains unified in Rivers State. “APC is one, and that’s what I know. I remain with APC,” he concluded.
