Elon Musk’s Election Promise To Give Away $1m Daily Prompts Call For Probe

Pennsylvania’s Democratic governor, Josh Shapiro, urged law enforcement on Sunday to investigate Elon Musk following his announcement at a pro-Trump rally to give away $1 million daily until Election Day.

At the rally in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, hosted by America PAC, a political action committee Musk created to support Donald Trump in the upcoming election, Musk handed out a $1 million check to an attendee.

Shapiro expressed concerns about Musk’s plan saying, “it’s something that law enforcement could take a look at.”

The giveaway, aimed at registered voters in Pennsylvania, is part of Musk’s broader efforts to sway the race between Trump and Democratic contender, Vice President Kamala Harris. Pennsylvania, a key battleground state, is crucial for both campaigns.

America PAC, the group Musk established, is actively working to mobilize and register voters in crucial swing states. However, reports suggest it is struggling to meet its goals. Reports revealed on Friday that the PAC’s voter mobilization efforts are falling short.

At Saturday’s rally, the recipient of the $1 million check was John Dreher. Musk joked as he handed him the check and said “By the way, John had no idea. So anyway, you’re welcome.”

On Sunday, Musk gave a second $1 million check to a woman at a Pittsburgh event, according to America PAC’s post on X.

To qualify for the $1 million, individuals must sign Musk’s online petition supporting the First and Second Amendments, and be a registered voter in one of seven swing states; Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, or Wisconsin.
