Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC have been sighted by Arise News at the ongoing Special national convention of the Peoples Democratic Party in Abuja with their presence driving fear into politicians and aspirants at the National Stadium venue of the primary election.
Upon enquiry, one of the leaders of the EFCC operatives informed Arise News exclusively that the team is at the PDP National Convention venue to prevent a raw display of cash or monetary inducements in line with the provisions of the new electoral act 2022.
The EFCC team leader urged politicians who are acting according to the laws of Nigeria not to be perturbed by their presence at the PDP convention while denying that they are there to arrest or intimidate opposition politicians.
