EFCC Launches Investigation into Bribery Allegations by Bobrisky in Viral Video

EFCC Chairman Olukoyede has ordered an investigation into bribery allegations made by Idris Okuneye (Bobrisky) in a viral video

The Executive Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ola Olukoyede, has ordered an immediate investigation into bribery allegations made against certain officers of the Commission by Idris Okuneye, popularly known as Bobrisky.

According to a statement made by the commission’s Head of Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, the allegations emerged from a viral video featuring Okuneye, which has been widely circulated across the country.

In the video, produced by Martins Vincent Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan, Okuneye claimed that unnamed EFCC officers solicited a bribe of N15,000,000 (Fifteen Million Naira) from him in exchange for dropping money laundering charges against him.

The serious nature of these claims has prompted swift action from the EFCC.

In response to the allegations, Olukoyede has formed a dedicated team of investigators tasked with thoroughly examining the claims.

The Commission has formally invited both Okuneye and Otse to present themselves at the EFCC’s Lagos Directorate to assist in the investigation.

The EFCC has emphasised its commitment to integrity, professionalism, and transparency throughout this process. The commission further assured the public that the allegations will be rigorously investigated, with findings to be made public in due course.
