Edo Election: Ize-Iyamu Suffers Shock Loss in Home Base

The candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Saturday’s Edo State Governorship election, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, suffered a shocking and humiliating defeat in his home local government area, Orhionmwon, and all the local government areas of Edo South Senatorial District, his home district.

In addition, his main financier, billionaire businessman, Captain Hosa Okunbo, suffered a similar defeat in his polling unit and Oredo Local government area.

As it stands, the Peoples Democratic Party candidate and incumbent Governor Godwin Obaseki, is in an almost unassailable lead in what was expected to be a hotly-contested election.
