Dr. Dre to Pay Ex-Wife Nicole Young $100m in Divorce Settlement

Dr. Dre and Nicole Young have settled their bitter divorce battle by finally ironing out finances. The famed music producer will pay his ex-wife $100 million, TMZ reported Tuesday. Dre will pay the first $50 million now and the second half a year from now. He’s estimated to be worth $820 million.

Dre will also keep their real estate properties and rights to his music and stock options, including the money earned from his sale of Beats by Dre.

Young, meanwhile, will keep four vehicles: a Rolls Royce, Cadillac Escalade, motorcycle and Range Rover. She’ll also keep her clothing, jewelry, bags and furs, which are estimated to be worth millions.

A source connected to the rapper, 56, told the outlet that Young could’ve gotten a larger piece of his estate if she had settled a year ago.

“She could have even been on the field for the Super Bowl halftime show as a friendly ex-wife,” the insider quipped.

The Aftermath Entertainment CEO and Young became legally single in April.

Both sides are claiming victory in the case behind the scenes. Sources close to Nicole say that Dre is actually forking over 1/5th of his fortune, alleging he’s not worth the $800-plus million that’s usually reported as his worth. Dre filed court documents during the divorce reflecting his assets totalled $458 million, with $183 million in cash.

Like a luxe episode of “Storage Wars,” TMZ reported that Nicole keeps the contents of “some storage lockers filled with items from their various homes.” But a source told us, “those storage lockers are lined with millions in fur coats, designer clothes, and cars.”

The source estimated that with the goods, Nicole’s walking away with $115 million tax-free. “Usually with a pre-nup, you don’t pay that much,” the source said of Dre’s deal.

The former NWA rapper filed documents in April to be declared legally single amid their divorce battle. Since then, Dre has been ordered to pay Young millions in legal fees and spousal support, which she’ll no longer receive.

The Aftermath Entertainment CEO and Young were married for 24 years until she filed for divorce in June 2020. Young has accused the hip hop star in court papers of abuse that was so bad she now has “post-traumatic stress syndrome,” though Dre has strongly denied the abuse claims.

Dre and Young share son Truice, 24, and daughter Truly, 20.
