Dokubo Says He Owns Private Military Licensed By Government + Tension Escalates Over Niger – Trending With Ojy Okpe

In the wake of uncertainty in the West African region following recent Coup d’etats and the ousting of President Bazom in Niger, the conversation on securing the region and measures to ensure a peaceful return to democracy continues to generate a debate among a cross section of Nigerians.

The Senate over the weekend advised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to consider diplomatic options rather than military intervention in the Republic of Niger. Many Nigerians have shared concern on the possibility of war and it’s adverse impact on the country, While some users on social media reject the idea of sending the Nigerian military to war, others have suggested engaging mercenaries.

This is as former militant leader Asari Dokubo in a recent podcast that went viral over the weekend, reveled that he owns a private military company that was engaged by the government of the Nigerian State.

In the meantime a Nigerien man by the name comrade Mohamed Ali, in a video that has now gone viral, commended the senate for rejecting the resolution by Ecowas on the use of force, in a bid to restore democracy in Niger. Bosun Tijani, a ministerial nominee from Ogun state, who was screened over the weekend, made headlines after senators grilled him over a post he made on Twitter in 2019 describing Nigeria as a bloody expensive tag.

Tijani came under criticism from members of the All Progressives Congress, since the announcement of his nomination with many asking President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to withdraw his selection.

At the commencement of his screening senator representing Oyo north Abdulfatai Buhari in reference to the 2019 Tweet, asked Tijani if he is still a patriotic Nigerian.

Tijani was also made to apologize to the senate over a 2021 twitter post in which he described senators as morons. Senate minority leader Simon Nwadkon read out the post and asked Tijani if he authored the Tweet.
