Dino Melaye: Wike Is An Expired Drug About To Be Taken Off The Shelf

The PDP governorship candidate of Kogi State, Dino Melaye, in an interview with ARISE NEWS on Wednesday, has insisted that his former friend Wike helped him during the period of their friendship because he was qualified for the office he was running for.

He also maintained that their fall out was as a result of his refusal to support his failed presidential ambition.

He said “Wike is an expired drug about to be taken off the shelf. That you supported me does not mean you will ask for my liver and kidney and let me say that Wike himself has been supported and he owes PDP a lot and anything he is doing for any individual in PDP is like giving back from what PDP has done for him.

“God can assist you through anybody. But because I refused to support his failed presidential ambition; when he was helping me, I was qualified, when he was helping me, he felt I had the qualities and credibility to be a Governor, that’s why he invested in me. You will not put your money where you have no faith.

“Governor Odili made him chairman of his local government. So, he has been helped by somebody. After Governor Odili helped him, Governor Amaechi made him chief of Staff.

“Governor Amaechi nominated him to be minister of the federal republic of Nigeria. Governor Amaechi helped him. Mrs. Goodluck Jonathan spent her money, her connection to make him the governor of Rivers State.

“Everyone gets helped by one person or the other but you don’t help people with the intention to enslave them.”

Responding to the comments about his comedy skits on social media, the former senator said they are strengths from which he will not desist, even as a governor.

“I am going to use that social media as a means of interaction with the youth and women of this country. The president of Ukraine is a comedian but he’s done what a field marshal and generals will not do. Nigerians should stop talking about side attractions because side attractions have nothing to do with the magnitude or intensity of your productivity or capacity as the case maybe”.

Dino also stated that when he is elected as governor, his administration will affect the internal revenue of the state, ensuring that the state do not rely on the “peanuts” that come in from the federal allocation in Abuja.
