The 15th Fulani Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, has extended his felicitation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf on the occasion of Sallah, as he announces jettisoning all Durbar activities in compliance with security advise.
In a special Sallah broadcast on Saturday at the Nasarawa palace in Kano, Bayero, announced the decision to observe Eid-el-Kabir prayers within the vacinity of the palace, contrary to the insinuations that he planned to pray at the state Eid ground, Kofar Mata.
The 15th Emir congratulated President Bola Tinubu and Governor Abba Yusuf, on the occasion of the Eid-el-Kabir and prayed Allah to continue to guide them in the task of developing the nation.
“We must shun anything that will threaten the peace as well as the lives and property of the people we govern;on the strength of that, we shelve our plan to stage the traditional Durbar during the Sallah festival.
“Our decision is in compliance with the order of security agencies against staging the Durbar and in the interest of the peace and security of the lives and property of our people,” he said.
“We also seize this opportunity to appeal to the Governor and the President to continue securing the lives and property of Nigerians,as well as implementing policies and programmes that will impact the lives of our people,” he said.
He then commended security agencies for their efforts at maintaining the peace,as well as ensuring security of lives and property in the state.
Speaking to newsmen after the live broadcast,a Senior Councillor at Bayero’s palace, the Sarkin Dawaki Babba,Aminu Babba Dan’agundi, clarified that although, the Emir would not stage the Durbar but, would still lead the Eid prayer in front of his Nasarawa palace tomorrow at 8 a.m.

He also said that Bayero would later in the day and the following day, receive the traditional Sallah homage from his District Heads, Councillors, palace aides and other citizens.
