Democratic Party Sees Record Fundraising Day As Kamala Harris Enters Presidential Race

ActBlue has raised $46.7 million in funds after Kamala Harris’ campaign launch, the biggest fundraising day of the 2024 cycle.

The Democratic party has seen surge in donations after Biden exits presidential race and Harris enters, with ActBlue raising record-breaking $46.7 million.

Kamala Harris’ declaration is said to seek the nomination, with liberal political action committee ActBlue announcing a record-breaking $46.7 million in funds as of Sunday night.

“As of 9pm ET, grassroots supporters have raised $46.7 million through ActBlue following Vice President Kamala Harris’ campaign launch,” ActBlue said in a statement.

“This has been the biggest fundraising day of the 2024 cycle. Small-dollar donors are fired up and ready to take on this election.”

The influx of donations came after top Democratic donors had previously pulled funding in recent weeks, calling on Biden to quit the race following his disappointing debate performance last month.

President Biden finally bowed to the pressure on Sunday, endorsing Harris in his announcement.

Donations poured in immediately, with ActBlue raising over $27.5 million within the first five hours of Harris’ campaign confirmation.

By Sunday night, that number had jumped to $46.7 million, with some estimates suggesting it had surpassed $60 million by early Monday morning.

Major Democratic donor Reid Hoffman has also thrown his support behind Harris, saying on X, “I wholeheartedly support her presidential bid… I believe the US would make the right decision between Harris and Trump.”

Harris has vowed to “earn and win” the Democratic nomination and Vows to do “everything in my power” to beat Donald Trump.
