Dele Momodu: It’s Fantasy of the Highest Order to Suggest Obi Will Win Presidential Election

A pre-election poll recently conducted by Premise Data Corp for Bloomberg News polling about 2,384 Nigerians from January 26 to February 4 via a smartphone app, projected the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, as the most preferred candidate of voters gaining about 66 per cent of a total of 93 per cent votes ahead of Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party  and Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress.

But despite Obi emerging winner of other previous polls, members of the opposition party have not failed to dismiss the results.

Reacting to the outcome of the pre-election polls tipping Obi to win, the PDP’s Director of Strategic Communications and member, Presidential Campaign Council Dele Momodu said on The Morning Show that polls conducted “cannot determine who wins’ because they are solely dependent on smart phone users.

He said; “technology has not permeated Nigeria enough to the extent that you will go in Sambisa forest, you will go into Kebbi, you will go into Zamfara, you will go into Sokoto and you will be able to get people to respond to those questions that pollsters look for. That is why it is very easy for them. All the polling that I’ve seen, none has indicated that they went into the grassroots.”

He stated emphaatucally: “It’s fantasy of the highest order to suggest Obi will win.”
