Coronation of 21st Olu of Warri – ARISE News Coverage

 

 

 

Omoba Tsola Emiko has become the 21st Olu of the oil and gas rich Warri kingdom after his coronation on Saturday.

The kingdom has been agog since Friday after the Olu designate, as he then was, ended his traditional 90 days Isolation period (Idaniken) with a long procession through some roads in his kingdom, thus preparing him for his coronation.

He was accompanied by thousands of Itsekiri sons and daughters on the procession with shouts of “may your reign be fruitful”, May your reign take the kingdom to greater heights”, “ May your reign bring greater glory to Warri kingdom and the Niger Delta” were loud as the procession continued.

Mr Buhari, while acknowledging the peaceful disposition of Itsekiris to peace in the Niger Delta zone and the country in general, urged Olu Emiko to use his gift and intellect to serve his people.

He expressed the hope that the new epoch would consolidate on the peace, progress and prosperity of all members of the kingdom.

President Muhammadu Buhari has also congratulated all Itsekiris on the coronation of the Olu of Warri.

Mr Buhari in a congratulatory message issued by his Spokesman, Femi Adesina, on Friday in Abuja, saluted the kingdom for overcoming the issues that arose after the initial appointment of the Olu-designate.

He pleaded that any other outstanding matter be amicably resolved in the interest of peace and tranquility in the kingdom.
