The Central Bank Of Nigeria Governor, Godwin Emefiele was trending over the weekend, after posting a series of tweets stating that he was humbled by calls for him to run to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari.
He denied that he has decided to run for President. The tweet has since garnered heavy backlash.
In response to the backlash, some Nigerians have accused those against the CBN Governor’s supposed presidential aspiration of double standards for keeping mum after a coalition of 28 groups obtained the N100 million APC presidential forms for the President of the African Development Bank Akinwumi Adesina.
In another development, the Independent National Electoral Commission on Sunday dismissed a claim its chairman Mahmood Yakubu, may join the race for president, following Godwin Emefiele’s alleged presidential ambition.
Finally, a video that has now gone viral on social media shows the moment a customs officer slapped an aide to the Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.
