Conor McGregor has confirmed he is in talks to face Logan Paul in a boxing exhibition in India. Speaking on social media early Tuesday morning, McGregor revealed he is in “preliminary agreements” with the family of Mukesh Ambani, a billionaire industrialist, regarding the match.
“I have agreed,” McGregor stated.
McGregor also dismissed rumours of a potential fight with UFC featherweight champion Ilia Topuria, clarifying that he plans to return to the Octagon following his boxing exhibition with Paul.
Topuria, in turn, denied any such speculation, stating on social media his disinterest in “fighting with a rapist.”
McGregor’s announcement follows a recent ruling by a civil court jury in Ireland, which ordered him to pay nearly €250,000 ($257,000) to a woman who accused him of assaulting her in a Dublin hotel in December 2018.
McGregor, once a dominant figure in UFC, has not fought since suffering a leg injury during a match with Dustin Poirier in July 2021. He withdrew from a planned UFC 303 fight with Michael Chandler in June, citing a broken toe.
Logan Paul, a YouTuber-turned-boxer, has previously faced Floyd Mayweather Jr. in an exhibition match. His brother, Jake Paul, recently defeated former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson unanimously in Arlington, Texas. This event marked Netflix’s first live sports broadcast, viewed in 60 million households.
