In a dazzling celebration of love and unity, music sensation Davido and his longtime partner Chioma Rowland, known affectionately as Chef Chi, tied the knot in Lagos on Tuesday.
The lavish wedding ceremony, a testament to the couple’s enduring love story, drew a constellation of high-profile guests from various spheres of life.
The wedding, held at Harbour Point in Victoria Island, was a grand assembly of the nation’s elite, with a swarm of dignitaries, celebrities and an array of notable figures from business, politics, and entertainment.
Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo and the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II, were in attendance, with the esteemed Ooni of Ife, showing up in his signature white attire and beaded crown. He was seen exchanging warm pleasantries with the venerable statesman, Obasanjo, as they arrived at the venue. Their presence, alongside other distinguished guests, added a regal touch to the already glamorous affair.
The guest list also included the likes of former Akwa Ibom State Governor Udom Emmanuel, Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki, Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, Senator Daisy Danjuma of Edo South, and Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu.
Adding to the glittering assembly were Abia State Governor Alex Otti and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu. Not to forget Osun Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State – Afrobeats star uncle – who was present and proudly as one of many proud family members.
The ceremony also saw an impressive turnout from the entertainment industry. Celebrities such as Patoranking and singer Paul Okoye, better known as Rudeboy, graced the occasion.
The event’s master of ceremonies was media personality, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, who ensured that the proceedings flowed smoothly, adding his charm and charisma to the celebration.
Although the couple’s pre-wedding photos were shared with the world just two weeks hefore, the pictures broke the internet and set the stage for this highly anticipated event, even sparking a frenzy on social media, with well-known blogs and news channels posting about it under the hashtag #Chivido2024.
The hashtag trended across major social media platforms, capturing the hearts of fans and well-wishers worldwide.
The star-studded celebration, marked by elegance and grandeur, is one that will not be forgotten in a hurry and will undoubtedly be remembered as one of the most colourful events in Nigeria’s recent history.
