Renowned author, Chimamanda Adichie, has accompanied Labour Party Presidential candidate, Peter Obi and his vice presidential candidate Datti Baba-Ahmed to the Presidential Election Petition Court today.
Obi and Datti lodged a legal challenge against the victory of President Bola Tinubu from the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the highly-contested presidential election that took place on February 25, 2023 after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared President Bola Tinubu as the winner of the election.
Adichie, who is a vocal critic of politics and policies in Nigeria, has been a strong supporter of Obi’s presidential bid.
The trio, Adichie, Peter Obi, and Datti Baba-Ahmed, arrived at the court premises amid heightened anticipation from supporters and observers alike.
The Court had scheduled this Tuesday for parties to adopt their final written addresses.
