A significant disruption has been reported in the functioning of ChatGPT, a cutting-edge AI chatbot developed by OpenAI, an artificial intelligence research lab. The chatbot’s inability to process queries has left many users frustrated and unable to access their previous conversations. The issue appears to have begun at around 06:30 Tuesday, GMT, with a staggering 80% of users experiencing difficulties accessing the platform.
Furthermore, a significant percentage of users are unable to access the website, while around 12% are struggling with the app.
The outage has been tracked by Down-detector, a website that monitors outages and provides real-time updates on the status of various services. According to the data, the issue is not limited to a specific region or group of users, but rather affects a significant majority of users worldwide.
It is essential to acknowledge that such disruptions can have a significant impact on the user experience, particularly for those who rely heavily on the chatbot for their daily tasks or work. In this context, it is crucial to ensure that the underlying issues are addressed promptly and effectively to prevent any long-term damage to the chatbot’s reputation and user trust.
OpenAi on their website stated that they are currently investigating the issue, and possible cause has been identified and mitigation is progress.
While the outage has caused significant inconvenience to many users, it is essential to recognise that it is a natural part of the development and growth of AI technology. By acknowledging the issue and addressing it promptly, OpenAI maintains its commitment to providing high-quality service and ensuring that users continue to trust and rely on ChatGPT.
