Charlize Theron Joins Christopher Nolan’s Star-Studded Project

Charlize Theron is the latest high-profile addition to Christopher Nolan’s upcoming project, joining an already impressive cast that includes Matt Damon, Zendaya, Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, and Anne Hathaway.

Universal Pictures, which will distribute the film, has yet to comment on the casting.

Nolan wrote the script and will direct, with the project set for release on July 17, 2026.

Plot details are being kept under wraps as Nolan is producing alongside producing partner and wife Emma Thomas for their Syncopy banner.

Sources suggest that Damon, Holland, Hathaway, and Pattinson will take on the lead roles, while Nyong’o and Zendaya are expected to play supporting parts.

The new feature reunites Nolan with the studio that made his drama Oppenheimer, which earned a staggering $976 million worldwide and won the Oscar for best picture. Oppenheimer was the first time the filmmaker worked with Universal, a relationship forged after Nolan publicly split with longtime home Warner Bros. in late 2020.

While Oppenheimer was picked up by Universal in an open auction setting, this new project ended up going straight to the studio, according to sources.

Theron, who is represented by CAA and Hansen Jacobson, was last in theatres with Fast X and will next appear in the sequel to Netflix’s The Old Guard.
