Chadwick Boseman To Receive Posthumous Honours at Multiple Award Shows

Chadwick Boseman will receive posthumous honours during MTV’s ‘Greatest of All Time’ special and at the 30th annual Gotham Independent Film Awards.

Although the late actor is best known for playing the titular role in ‘Black Panther,’ he also received acclaim for his roles in other films such as ‘42,’ ‘Get On Up,’ ‘Marshall,’ and ‘Da 5 Bloods.’

MTV’s Greatest of All Time special is the first of its kind and will replace this year’s MTV Movie & TV Awards. Boseman will receive the Hero for the Ages award, presented to a star “whose heroism on-screen was only surpassed by the true hero they were off-screen.” His fellow Marvel Universe actors Don Cheadle and Robert Downey Jr. will present the award.

Additionally, Boseman will receive the annual actor tribute at the Gotham Awards, where he is also nominated in the best actor category for ‘Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.’ The film marks his final project and will be available on Netflix starting December 18th.

Boseman passed away in August at the age of 43 after a private battle with colon cancer. Alhough he concealed his struggle from the public eye, he filmed several movies, including Black Panther, after his diagnosis in 2016.
