The Senate adjourned for a close-door session to determine the fate of former Minister of State for Labour.
Most of the Senators asked that he should not be confirmed due to his prior disobedience of summons by Parliament in the past.
“I did not absolve president Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR. My framework of statement or message is that he should not be blamed too much as regards the south-east.”
Phrank Shuaibu said added that Tinubu’s academic records from primary school till university remained questionable.
They said the president is being misled by lawyers who are trying to hoodwink judges.
“Those that require an amendment to the existing laws, whether the Electoral Act 2022 or the Constitution, we will harvest them and approach the National Assembly for consideration.”
The Senator stated that the party’s main focus is on “Project Nigeria”.
He also said that he will plug the leakages to increase the state’s revenue.
He defended the legitimacy of his election in February.
He pledged to ensure a scientific register of party members and pay utmost attention to election management and conflict resolution.
He said he has made earlier commitments and expressed total support to the party.
The Chairman and Secretary of the party, Abdullahi Adamu and Iyiola Omisore respectively resigned their appointments last month.
The Court had scheduled this Tuesday for parties to adopt their final written addresses.
The court had directed parties in the petition to write, file and exchange their final written addresses.

Phrank Shaibu said that the speech was to convince labour not to embark on strike.
The senator stated that there needs to be clarification on the 60-day deadline for submission of ministers.
He said Wike cannot combine being a leader of the party in Rivers State and minister under the All Progressives Congress-led administration.
From August 1, the tribunal would have less than 55 days to deliver judgment in favour or against the petition to prevent the case from becoming statute barred.
