Vice President Kamala Harris campaigned alongside rapper Cardi B in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on Friday night in a bid to galvanise support in the must-win state.
Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump held a rival rally in the same city, though initial technical issues delayed his address.
With over 66 million votes already cast, shattering early voting records, the race is at a critical juncture. Harris has increasingly sought celebrity endorsements in the campaign’s closing stages.
Cardi B, who has a large social media following, voiced Harris’s key messages, advocating for abortion rights and economic relief.
Reading from her phone, Cardi B criticised Trump’s stance on reproductive rights, declaring, “I’m not taking any chances with my future…and [I’m] taking no chances with the future of my children.” She also commented on the economic strain, calling for a stronger economy and lower living costs.
Harris, addressing the crowd after Cardi B, emphasised her commitment to reducing living costs, a significant concern as Americans face nearly a 20% increase in prices over the past four years. “Bringing down the cost of living for you will be my focus every single day,” she stated, aiming to resonate with working-class voters.
