British Rock Band Oasis To Reunite After 15 Years For 2025 World Tour

British rock band Oasis announced on Tuesday that they will be reuniting after a 15-year hiatus, with brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher planning a series of live performances in 2025.

Oasis, who released their debut album “Definitely Maybe” three decades ago, disbanded in 2009 when lead guitarist and principal songwriter Noel Gallagher stated he could no longer work alongside frontman Liam Gallagher.

“This is it, this is happening,” the band declared on X, revealing that tickets would go on sale this Saturday. The first performance is scheduled for Cardiff, Wales on 4 July next year.

Oasis announced that they would be performing a total of 14 shows in Cardiff, Manchester – where the band was established in 1991 – London, Edinburgh, and Dublin, as part of the UK leg of their world tour.

“The guns have fallen silent. The stars have aligned. The great wait is over. Come see. It will not be televised,” the band said in a statement on their website.

The announcement on Tuesday follows a weekend of speculation about a possible reunion, which led to a 160% increase in global streaming on music platform Spotify over a two-hour period on Monday, compared to the previous week.

The 2025 tour will coincide with the 30th anniversary of Oasis’ second album “(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?”, which featured hits like “Don’t Look Back in Anger” and “Wonderwall.”

The release of “Roll with It” from the album in August 1995 saw Oasis go head-to-head with Blur’s “Country House” in a chart rivalry that captured media attention. Blur ultimately claimed the number one spot.

“(What’s the Story) Morning Glory?” went on to sell over 22 million copies worldwide, becoming the best-selling album of the 1990s in Britain and marking the band’s breakthrough in the United States.

The Gallagher brothers were frequently at odds during the band’s 1990s tours, and their animosity persisted afterwards. “He thinks he’s the man and I think I’m the man, do you know what I mean?” Liam remarked in 2017.
