Breaking: Interpol Extradites Former Pensions Boss Maina from Niger to Nigeria

The fugitive former Chairman of the defunct Pension ReformTask Team, Abdulrasheed Maina, who was arrested in Niger Republic has been extradited back to Nigeria.

Maina is facing a 12-count money laundering charges filed against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

 

The plane conveying Maina landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abij at 2:30pm and he is on his way to the Nigeria Police Force Headquarters.

Maina was re-arrested on Monday evening in Niger Republic.

The NPF say the arrest was possible because of an existing mutual relationship and security agreement between the two countries- Nigeria and Niger Republic.
