Brazilian forward Neymar is making a good recovery from the knee surgery he underwent following an injury last month, but it is still unclear when he will be able to play again.
The 31-year-old injured his meniscus and anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee last month while representing Brazil in a 2026 World Cup qualifier.
Brazil’s team physician, Rodrigo Lasmar, stated that Neymar is totally dedicated to getting back to 100% health.
The player is recovering “very well,” but Lasmar informed a press conference at Brazil’s training facility in Teresopolis that the procedure would take time and he has to concentrate on it.
“He has demonstrated, from the first moment, that he is following what we are proposing,” Lasmar told a news conference in Sao Paulo on Monday.
For an estimated €90 million (£78.4 million), Neymar joined the Saudi Pro League in August. However, due to muscular injuries, the former forward for Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain only appeared in five matches.
On Thursday, Brazil, with seven points, which is third in the South American World Cup qualification standings, will play Colombia, which is in fifth place with six points. The next Tuesday, they play host to the top-seeded Argentina team, who have 12 points.
