The spokesman to Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum, Mallam Isa Gusau has breathed his last at an Indian hospital.
Gusau who was also the spokesman to the present Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima when he was the governor of Borno State was on admission at the Indian hospital for over a month now battling for his life.
He took the final bow on Thursday in a specialist hospital in New Delhi after protracted illness, according to a source who would not like to be quoted.
The source said: “We have lost Isa to the cold hands of death, he was unconscious for about three days, we were all praying for his recovery but it was quite unfortunate that we lost him this evening (Thursday) in the hospital in New Delhi, India.”
Gusau was said to be actively involved in the publicity of the governor right from his sick bed in India, issuing statements to promote his boss.
There is yet no official confirmation of his death but the social media is awash with news of his demise.
It is not yet clear when his remains would be brought home for interment.
