Bad Bunny, Drake, The Weeknd Lead Spotify’s 2020 Year-End List

Drake, Bad Bunny, Dua Lipa and The Weeknd are among the most-streamed artists of 2020, according to figures from Spotify.

Bad Bunny is the audio platform’s most-streamed artist of 2020, with more than 8.3 billion streams globally this year. He’s followed by Drake, J Balvin, Juice WRLD and The Weeknd, in that order. In just the United States, Juice WRLD is the most-streamed artist, followed by Drake, Lil Uzi Vert, Post Malone and Taylor Swift.

As well as topping the overall streams chart, Puerto Rican star Bad Bunny’s second album YHLQMDLG notched up 3.3 billion streams, followed by The Weeknd’s After Hours and Post Malone’s Hollywood’s Bleeding. Harry Styles’ Fine Line and Dua Lipa’s Future Nostalgia took fourth and fifth place respectively.

The most-streamed song across the globe this year is The Weeknd’s “Blinding Lights,” with almost 1.6 billion streams. Tones And I’s “Dance Monkey” and Roddy Ricch’s “The Box” follow in second and third place, respectively. The fourth most-streamed song of the year is “Roses – Imanbek Remix” by Imanbek and SAINt JHN, followed by Lipa’s “Don’t Start Now.”

Billie Eilish is Spotify’s most-streamed female artist for the second year in a row, followed by Swift and Ariana Grande in the second and third spots.

Spotify said the most popular genre of 2020 was pop music – reflecting a rise in happier, up-tempo music during the pandemic.
