At Least 21 Dead In Suicide Bombing At Bank In Afghanistan

At least 21 people have lost their lives in a devastating suicide bombing that rocked the southern Afghan city of Kandahar, as reported by a doctor at the regional hospital.

The Taliban government, however, has disclosed a significantly lower death toll, citing three casualties. Police officials have confirmed numerous injuries resulting from the attack.

According to the Taliban, the suicide explosion occurred at approximately 08:00 local time (03:30 GMT) at a bank situated in the heart of the city.

As of now, no organization has claimed responsibility for the atrocity, marking it as one of the most significant incidents of violence witnessed in Afghanistan this year.

The targeted bank branch was crowded with Afghan government employees who had gathered to receive their salaries, underscoring the brutal impact of the attack on innocent civilians.

Reports indicate that the deceased and around 50 injured individuals have been rushed to Mirwais Hospital, the largest medical facility in the region, as conveyed by a doctor from the hospital, speaking on the condition of anonymity.
